Product Manager

Main Functions

Our Product Management function oversees the management of the product portfolio for Lallemand’s Plant Care business unit (product design, registration, roadmaps).

Our team is looking for a Product Manager to manage the portfolio and life cycle of our bio-insecticides (LALGUARD) product line. He/she will be the interface between our different internal functions as it relates to the portfolio. Externally, the Product Manager will be in contact with key influencing people, authorities, and customers.

Reporting to the Product Management Director, the Product Manager can be located anywhere as long as he or she is obsessed with our products – nothing less! 

The Product Manager guides product development from inception to sale. To be successful, he or she works collaboratively with our R&D/QA/Production, Technical Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain/Customer Service, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure everybody is aligned in the following tasks related to the LALGUARD product portfolio:

Product Management

  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap
    • Determine the priorities for the portfolio
    • Determine the evolutions of the portfolio (improvement of existing products, follow-up of complaints, etc...)
  • Manage all product labels and product IDs for the product line
  • Participate in innovation programs involving the product line
  • Participate in defining and following-up of regulatory actions
  • Ensure that all elements linked with the portfolio sku’s are in place prior to the launch/sales (product story, packaging, labels, recipe, codes…)
  • Ensure that new and existing products follow applicable laws and regulations
  • Participate in planning, production, and quality decisions

Product Champion

  • Provide internal and B2B training and technical support on the product line
  • Determine and communicate the potential positionings of the products (claim, crop, pricing guidelines)
  • Recommend the most adapted positionings for each market/geography
  • Participate in local strategies (sales strategy, distribution, pricing)

Technical skills


  • MSc, PhD or equivalent in agronomy or microbiology
  • Agriculture & Microbiology knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and complete projects
  • Financial skills to follow a budget and analyze product profitability
  • Analytical skills to interpret sales statistics and marketing data
  • Understanding of the products or services the business sells and the industry that the company works in
  • Knowledge of bio-insecticides market and environment (Regulatory, KIP, etc.)
  • Knowledge on microbial products production & customer service constraints

An asset

  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish and/or Portuguese and/or German
