Main functions
The Research Associate will join a team involved in genetic engineering of yeast to produce fuels. The selected individual will apply molecular biology skills to engineer yeast, analyze associated genotypes and phenotypes, as well as provide documentation of the process and results. The individual will assist in solving difficult problems with insight, creativity, and skill. The candidate will perform this research in support of company goals and priorities in conjunction with the project leader, team members as well as a variety of teams across the company.
Research topics include genetic and metabolic engineering, protein expression, development of strain screens and selections techniques and fermentation science. Tasks associated with this position also include:
