Regional Sales Manager - Spain & Portugal

Main Functions

Reporting to the Commercial Director – EMEA, you will develop and manage sales and routes for Lallemand Plant Care products in Spain and Portugal for brands covering biostimulants, fertilizers and biopesticides products for agriculture (ornamental crops/horticulture, specialty crops, arable crops). Your responsibility is to drive sales forward and install the company in these markets.

You will work primarily with pesticide and fertilizer distributors (head office and commercial), our agronomic development and technical support team, and fertilizer and biostimulant formulators. Attached to the head office in France, you will be home-based and will do extensive travel on the territory but also abroad.

With many new and innovative product launches planned over the next several years; this will truly be an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a sales professional who is keen and enjoys business development!

Tasks associated with this position also include, but may not be limited to:

  • Devise, develop and implement a strategy for significant sales growth of all the products in the different countries;
  • Achieve sale and contribution targets;
  • Support existing distributor of Lallemand Plant Care and assist in developing sales and profit growth. Farm sales support will be required;
  • Build a good working relationship and understanding with technical and sales team of our distributors;
  • Assist in the registration strategy for the different products of the range of Lallemand Plant Care and assist the agronomic support team to set up trials and define the development strategy;
  • Serve as our technical ambassador; helping to train our customers in the proper use of our products, troubleshooting challenges when required and representing our company at relevant trade shows and meetings.

Technical skills

Required

  • Sound knowledge of the agriculture fertilizer, biostimulant and pesticide industry and their distribution in these countries
  • Sound technical knowledge of the crops production. With an ability to support products at a farm level
  • Demonstrate fertilizers, biostimulant or pesticides sales experience within last 2 years supporting sales staff
  • Sound knowledge use of microbial in crop production
  • Sound knowledge with contacts within the fertilizer and biostimulant industry
  • Key account management skills
  • Working and negotiating skills at CEO/Board level
  • Working and negotiating skills at CEO/Board level
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
