Biomolecular Microbiology Technician (N-2202)

Main Functions

Reporting to the Preclinical and Clinical Research Director, the role of the Microbiologist Technician will include, but will not necessarily be limited to:

  • Develop and implement procedures in the organization of the bacterial culture collection (catalogue, inventory, and barcoding activities);
  • Responsible for the preparation of bacterial culture medium and cultivation;
  • Perform other lab activities and provide support to other team members;
  • Executing laboratory testing according to standard procedures;
  • Present results through scientific documents (e.g. OneNote, internal reports and posters);
  • Responsible for the communication of the results, and the writing of scientific documents (e.g. electronic laboratory notebook, R&D reports, etc.);
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment, in respect of the internal rules and the external regulations;
  • Using LIMS software to collect or record data and information;
  • Any other related tasks.

Technical skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science or collegial diploma (CEGEP) in Science
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or biochemistry
  • Familiar with molecular techniques and microbial physiology
  • Knowledge in LIMS solutions
  • Bilingual English and French

Personal abilities

  • Autonomy, sense of organization, rigor, attention to detail;
  • Ability to adapt and judgment
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork oriented
