Quality control technician (junior)

Main Functions

  • Perform standard quality assurance testing on raw materials (molasses and corn mash), commercial products and  research and development samples (yeast);
  • Perform fermentation kinetics analysis;
  • Prepare culture media, solutions and other materials for analysis;
  • Prepare inoculates used for production of microorganisms;
  • Sterilize and Decontaminate previously used material;
  • Fill and maintain relevant paperwork and registries;
  • Respect health and safety policies;
  • Respect good manufacturing practices, good laboratory practice, and our standard operating procedures;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the laboratory;
  • Participate in all other relevant task in the laboratory.

Technical skills

Required

  • Bachelor degree in science: microbiology, biotechnology, food sciences, or related
  • Excellent interpersonal and communicational skills, written and spoken (English and French)
  • Computer knowledge and experience (Excel, Word, Outlook)

An asset

  • Experience in a GLP/GCLP environment

Personal abilities

Required

  • Organized and rigorous in the conduct of their work
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail
  • Dynamic, and motivated
