Technical and Regulatory Affairs Specialist ‘Sustainability’ - Animal Nutrition

Main Functions

In order to support the development of this business unit, LALLEMAND SAS is looking for a talented, motivated and passionate Technical and Regulatory Affairs Specialist ‘Sustainability’. The primary function of this role is to conduct and manage projects related to environmental sustainability (e.g. Life Cycle Assessment modeling and reporting, green claims/labelling) with a particular focus on feed industry.

The employee will report to the Regulatory Affairs Manager. Tasks associated with this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Scoping, planning, execution and communication of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Carbon Footprint studies for LAN products;
  • Coordinate “sustainability” activities with R&D and marketing;
  • Support customer collaboration projects on product sustainability, utilizing LCA and other tools;
  • Regulatory watch concerning the development of regulatory aspects linked to sustainability in key-countries (e.g. EU, US) as well as at international level (e.g. Codex, FAO-WHO, United Nations);
  • Work externally with industry associations on sustainability related initiatives (e.g. green claims, environmental labelling).

Profile and professional skills required

  • Master of Science (MSc) degree in environmental/life science, agri-food or equivalent;
  • Ideally 3-5 years of work experience in the area of sustainability and LCA (methodology, models and tools) both on technical and regulatory aspects;
  • Experience with PEFCR-feed, GFLI and LEAP guidelines or equivalent is a plus;
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills;
  • Proven ability to communicate to and engage with a range of audiences (e.g. R&D, marketing, Sales), including explaining complex technical topics;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and French. Mastery of another language is a plus;
  • Mastery of computer tools (word, excel). Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and other IT tools is a plus.
