Technical Sales Representative - Western North Dakota

Main Functions

Lallemand Plant Care is a leading manufacturer of innovative microbial solutions to benefit and add value to the agricultural, horticultural, and forestry markets. Broad Acre Crop US is a market leader in legume inoculants and biologicals solutions for production agriculture.

Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager – Broad Acre Crop US, you will focus on building and supporting our microbial business with concentrated efforts through our distributors, retails, and end-user customers across Western North Dakota. Also serving as our technical ambassador; helping to train our customers in the proper use of our products, troubleshooting challenges when required and representing our company at relevant trade shows and industry meetings.

Your main responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  • New business development and excellent customer support.
  • Customer training and education relating to our technology and innovation.
  • Demand creation tactics with end-user customers to support market development (e.g., retail and farm calls, grower meetings etc.).
  • Territory field trial campaign developed and executed upon annually to support new product launches and business development.
  • Attendance at regional tradeshows and industry meetings.
  • Contribute to our team’s success in exceeding our annual business budget and management of your annual territory expense budget.

 

Technical skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in an agriculture related field.
  • 3+ years of retail/grower sales experience in the seed or crop protection market preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of North Dakota crop protection market and distributor/retail landscape.
  • Keen interest in business development and building innovative brands in the market with retails and growers.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and complete projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

An asset

  • Understanding current agronomic practices and experience in row crops, preferably crops of significance across North Dakota.
  • Experience selling, and a strong knowledge of microbial technology.

General criteria

Required

  • Willingness to travel extensively across the specified territory for business development and customer support. Some additional travel across upper mid-west and international may occur occasionally for training and meetings.
  • May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Sitting for long durations (driving or at desk).
  • Valid passport, and clear driver’s license.
