Junior R&D Project Manager

Main Functions

To support the development of the Animal Nutrition (LAN) business unit, LALLEMAND SAS is looking for a Junior R&D Project Manager 

Member of the R&D team and reporting to the Aquaculture R&D Manager, the project manager will ensure the following roles and responsibilities :

Management of R&D projects related to applications of Lallemand products in Aquaculture and development of new products:

• Prospect experimental sites, define and discuss study protocols, negotiate trial budgets with partners;
• Manage research projects in collaboration with a selection of partners in connection with the development of existing products or the prospecting of innovation solutions;
• Participate in the statistical analysis of the trials monitored;
• Write scientific papers and present at scientific conferences, while also preparing scientific summaries for technical teams;
• Provide scientific monitoring on the themes of the research projects monitored;
• Understand the needs of the Animal Nutrition division and propose new research ideas, approaches or methodologies;
• Provide technical support to marketing and sales teams for setting up field trials, analyzing data and presenting technical results to third parties.

DEGREE AND EXPERIENCE
• Master (M2) or doctoral thesis in animal production or Veterinary medicine (DVM) specialized in livestock.
• 1-3 years of research experience in the R&D department of a company in the animal feed or additives sector or equivalent;
• Specific experience in feed formulation, health or hygiene and health issues on the farm would be a plus.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Knowledge and strong interest in the European and global aquaculture sector;
• Familiar with project management;
• Comfortable with multi-project oversight, prioritization skills;
• Comfortable with defining experimental protocols and statistical analyses;
• Proficiency with at least one of the current statistical programs (SAS, SPSS, R Studio, etc.);
• Scientific writing, synthesis and outreach,
• Fluent English (written and spoken), another language highly appreciated.
