Laboratory supervisor

Main Functions

• Ensure the application of Good Laboratory and Manufacturing Practices, food safety program, compliance with health, safety, environmental, hygiene and quality rules and procedures.
• Draft standard operating procedures and ensure they are up to date and in line with regulatory requirements / monographs.
• Lead the operations of the Quality Control Laboratory:

  1. Employee management;
  2. Organize training for department employees;
  3. Manage maintenance of laboratory instruments;
  4. Schedule lab testing based on time and client requirements;
  5. Ensure the qualification/ requalification of raw materiels and external service laboratories;
  6. Monitor releases of finished products both internally and by external laboratories.

• Direct investigations in case of out-of-specification or out-of-trend results in the laboratory.
• Maintain the Analysis Specifications and Certificates database.
• Sign the analysis certificates.
• Member of the HACCP team.
• Respond to customer requests.
• Any other related tasks.

Technical skills

Required

  • University degree in chemistry or biochemistry.
  • Be bilingual, spoken and written (French/English)

  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des chimistes du Québec.
