HR Director

Main Functions

Leading the Human Resources department across our two sites in Patos de Minas and Piracicaba, Brazil. The primary mission is to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring the effective management of human capital.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies: Align HR strategies with business objectives and ensure they support the company's goals.
  • Talent acquisition and retention: Oversee recruitment processes, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Employee relations: Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns and grievances in a timely manner.
  • Performance management: Oversee performance appraisal systems, providing constructive feedback and promoting professional growth.
  • Training and development: Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee and leadership skills and competencies.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labor laws and corporate policies.
  • Compensation and benefits: Manage competitive compensation and benefits packages.
  • HR metrics and analytics: Monitor HR metrics and use data to inform decision-making processes.
  • Manage HR team: Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to achieve department goals.
  • Regularly visit both sites to ensure consistent HR practices and address site-specific needs.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Internal relationships: All department heads, employees across both sites, Organizational Development Partner of LPC, President of LPC.
  • External relationships: Recruitment agencies, universities, labor authorities, legal advisors, training providers, HR consulting agencies.

 

Technical skills

Required

  • Experience in an agricultural business and/or in a production business and/or working with unions.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices in Brazil.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and strategic planning.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with HR metrics and analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese (English and Spanish proficiency is an asset).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial relations, Industrial Psychology or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in Human Resources management.

General criteria

Required

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly between sites. 50/50 travel during the first year between sites. Then traveling minimum one week per month in the site where not located.
  • Up to 20% of travel within Brazil. International travel may occur.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid passport.
