Bilingual customer support specialist

Main Functions

The Bilingual Customer Support Specialist is the main point of contact for our customers and is accountable for maintaining Lallemand’s high level of service standards, the delivery of high-quality customer service, and providing support across the company by fulfilling various administrative and clerical duties as required.

Tasks associated with this position also include, but may not be limited to:

  • Manage the order process from reception and input of the customer’s order all the way through to delivery and follow up;
  • Manage the fulfillment and shipping of orders, as required;
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, keeping them updated on their order status as it goes through the order process;
  • Assist customers in all account related matters;
  • Maintain and organize customer records (electronic and paper as required);
  • Assist in the sales process, including transitioning prospects into customers and monitoring lead, prospect, and customer statuses;
  • Invoice and process customer payments;
  • Aid in other departmental tasks, such as month end procedures for Finance, as it relates to customer orders;
  • Perform administrative duties such as editing, formatting final reports, typing letters and memos;
  • Receive telephone calls and assist with placement of calls;
  • Perform routine tasks including receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and take appropriate action regarding mail (as required);
  • Receive visitors, answer general questions, and direct individuals to the appropriate person;
  • Receive e-mail and respond directly or forward to the appropriate person for response;
  • Attend meetings and take minutes as required. Distribute minutes to attendees afterwards;
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Policy at all times;
  • Other duties as required.

Technical skills

Required

  • College degree in business or office administration or equivalent
  • Minimum one-to-two years’ experience in a customer service and/or office administrative role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English and French
  • Proficient with data entry
