Dakota Yeast LLC is located in Wahpeton, ND, United States and is part of the Food Manufacturing Industry. Dakota Yeast LLC produces cream yeast for the baking industry.

We are currently looking for a Fermentation Operator, motivated and ready to take on a new opportunity. The employee will be responsible for:

  • Operate and continuously monitor computer-controlled systems and processing equipment for fermentation assuring operation with established norms as to nutrient addition, temperature, pH and other attributes
  • Perform in-line process measurements to ensure
  • Sets up, operate and monitor:
  • Molasses preparation and sterilization
  • Cleaning-in-place
  • Pre-fermentation steps
  • Set, fermentation & separation
  • Enter work orders for maintenance and repair of equipment and/or facility as needed
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and/or enter data into Unix or other systems as needed
  • Complete general housekeeping and organization of the fermentation floor during assigned shifts
  • Responsible for the operation of the plant when assigned swing and night shifts
  • Participate and comply in the various Quality System programs including GMP/Sanitation, HACCP, FSSC, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

Technical skills

Required

  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving/troubleshooting

An asset

  • Working knowledge of processing equipment, including pneumatic values, pumps, clarifiers/separators and plant instrumentation devices
  • Previous experience in fermentation operations

Personal abilities

Required

  • Demonstrated skill to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive and positive relationships with employees and vendors

General criteria

  • regularly uses hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls
  • occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds
  • frequently required to sit, talk, and hear, walk and stand
