Main Functions

Full Job Description

Due to expansion of our manufacturing facility in Malvern, we have a great opportunity for a number of Fermentation Operators within an industrial food manufacturing environment, to join our on-site team in Malvern.

KEY ROLES

  • Production scale fermentations of lactic acid bacteria.
  • Weighing out of media and blend components according to written formulations.
  • Operation of freeze dryers including loading and unloading of product.
  • Operation of ancillary equipment such as steam boilers, dosing pumps, cooling towers, air scrubber etc
  • Cleaning of equipment and process areas.
  • Working to the required ISO 9001 and relevant Health and Safety Standards
  • Working with minimal supervision
  • Housekeeping and general duties.

Technical skills

Required

  • Accurate and precise record keeping
  • Ability to follow written instructions precisely
  • An understanding of the need for cleanliness and vessel integrity in fermentation processes

An asset

  • 2-years experience within a process industry such as brewing, food or chemical process is preferred, although chemical engineering/ biotechnology/microbiology graduates would also be considered.

Personal abilities

Required

  • Ability to participate in an out of hours call out system including weekend working on a scheduled rota basis
