Laboratory Technician

Main Functions

Applicant must be a recent graduate and familiar with lab protocols/equipment. 

Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • conducting independent formula driven tests and experiments (including lab scale fermentations and contamination and viability testing),
  • media preparation,
  • sample processing and quality control,
  • plating,
  • processing isolates for identification,
  • improving testing methods,
  • maintaining proper reporting formats.

Technical skills

Required

  • Basic Laboratory Skills
  • Undergraduate or Graduate (MS) degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry
