Technical Sales Representative - North Americas

Main Functions

Reporting directly to the President and General Director, the Technical Sales Representative for North America will be responsible for product sales from sales prospecting to customer service and technical support. He will be the interface between the client and our company. Main activities include but are not limited to:


  • Plan and organize sales activities
  • Ensure efficient collaboration with distributors
  • Frequently visit the client portfolio
  • Build and maintain a strong, trustful and lasting relationship with clients
  • Develop the market through new collaborations and prospects
  • Capture and communicate upward market information, needs, and competition. Propose product positioning
  • Identify partnership opportunities and development projects for new and existing product
  • Develop the sales proposal in alignment with group price guidelines and communicate to clients
  • Negotiate and prepare Sales Agreement
  • Prepare and customize the technical material and contribute, as needed to marketing and communication tools
  • Develop the forecast corresponding to the client portfolio
  • Place and follow orders with Supply Chain/Customer Services function
  • Inform internal functions of quality issues or concerns communicated by the clients
  • Analyze Sales results and prepare annual Sales budget
  • Work collaboratively with clients as well as with the Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain and Sales functions
  • Deliver on the portfolio sales and margin goals
  • All other connected activities

Technical skills


  • 5 to 7 years experience in the food industry
  • Bachelor's degree with specialization in food science and technology, food engineering or related

An asset

  • Experience in cheese industry

Personal abilities


  • Power of persuasion, enthusiasm and perseverance
  • Ability to work alone or in a team (good collaboration and communication)
  • Organize and autonomous
  • Relational skills - Ability to adapt and listen to customers
  • Perfectly bilingual (English and French)

General criteria


  • Available to travel more than 50% of the time (mainly Canada and USA)
