Quality Assurance Specialist

Main Functions

To support the development of our Lallemand Plant Care business unit, our Quality Assurance team is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist.

As part of our global Quality Assurance team, the Quality Assurance Specialist will focus on supporting all the QA activities of our Lallemand Plant Care business unit. This versatile position will also involve collaboration with the Quality Control, Production, Regulatory Affairs and R&D teams. The successful candidate will report to the QA Manager based in Brazil and the position will be located in one of our offices in Canada, either in Montreal (Quebec), in Sault-Ste-Marie (Ontario) or in Saskatoon (Saskatchewan).

The main tasks, without being limited to them, are:

  • Support the quality management system
    • Follow-up of quality management processes
      • Documentation (including labels and products registrations)
      • Standard Operational procedures
      • Specifications for suppliers and sub-contractors
      • QC release Policy
    • Edition of quality documentation
      • Certificates of Analysis
      • SDS
      • Statements and other certificates
      • Labels
      • Registration files
  • Support production
    • Definition of product specifications
    • Monitoring of internal and externalized productions
    • Trouble shooting
  • Contribute to management of complaints
    • Advice BU teams for use of Complaint system and ensure complaints are adequately reported
    • Make sure that QC answers are received and updated
    • Facilitate information exchanges between production, logistic, sub-contractors, sales teams, R&D
    • Convert complaint follow-up into continuous improvement
    • Prepare quarterly complaint syntheses
  • Contribute to data bases
    • Recipe file
    • Quality documentation data bases
    • Support BU product data bases
  • Support to the implementation of the quality control management system (LEMS)
  • Performs audits of sub-contractors and suppliers

Technical skills

Required

  • Master degree (or equivalent) in biotechnology, microbiology or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in microbiology and quality system (or related field)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Relevant computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

An asset

  • Verbal and written communication skills in French and/or Portuguese and/or Spanish
