Technical Sales Representative – Eastern Canada

Main Functions

Reporting to the Commercial Manager - Canada, your job responsibility will focus on building and supporting our soybean inoculant and specialty crop biological business with concentrated efforts through distributor partners across eastern Canada. The focus will be the Ontario geography and to a much smaller degree the Maritimes.

You will also serve as our technical ambassador; helping to train our customers in the proper use of our products, troubleshooting challenges when required, and representing our company at relevant trade shows and meetings.

Covid-19 Statement

Lallemand is an essential service and can operate during the pandemic with modifications to accommodate social distancing, such as working from home. If a provincial lockdown is in effect, interviews must be held via video conferencing. Otherwise, interviews can be conducted in person or via video conferencing, depending on the situation and the company/candidates comfort level. Staff are equipped with hand sanitizer and face masks and adhere to social distancing protocols at all times. If able to, face masks must always be worn for in person meetings. Technical skills


  • Degree or diploma in agriculture or related field
  • 5+ years of business development experience in the seed or crop protection market. Biological agricultural inputs industry preferred
  • Sound knowledge of the eastern Canadian seed & crop protection market
  • Field agronomy experience in specialty crops, preferably crops of significance across eastern Canada
  • Understanding of current agronomic practices & constraints
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English

An asset

  • Fluent in French

General criteria


  • Willingness to travel extensively across Ontario for business development and customer support. Some additional travel across the Maritimes for business and other regions of Canada and the USA may occur occasionally for training and meetings
