Maintenance Mechanic
Main functions
Minnesota Specialty Yeast LLC is seeking a full-time, hardworking, self-motivated Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the maintenance of equipment and machinery in order to optimize efficiency and meet group or regulatory standards. Diagnose equipment problems and anticipate repairs thoroughly. Perform repairs per GMP standards as required on pumps, motors, boilers, valves, pipes and other equipment in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of systems and processes of cooling system and alcohol systems. Perform tests of equipment after repair. Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment as outlines by the PM system. Assist is scheduling future PM’s, continuously watching equipment for leaks & potential repairs and working on equipment breakdowns and Cleaning shop & work area and Pant safety checks.
The candidate will be required to take a work aptitude test that includes being able to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis, Background Check and Pre-Employment screening.
Position includes a full union benefit package; offering excellent medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, pension plan and an IRA retirement plan by one of our local financial advisor.
Technical skills
Required- Must possess high school diploma or GED;
- Minimum 5 years maintenance mechanic or technical school degree in maintenance related field and be able to provide proof of maintenance experience.
Asset- Working knowledge of centrifugal / PD pump repair and previous maintenance work in a food manufacturing facility.
General criteria
Required- Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds or more on a routine basis.
Asset- Boiler operator license;
- Forklift and Scissor Lift certified .
