Technical Sales Representative - Broad Acre Crops - USA

Main Functions

Reporting to the National Sales Director – US, you will focus on building and supporting Lallemand Plant Care's microbial business with concentrated efforts through our distributors, retails, and end-user customers across Montana and PNW market. Also serving as our technical ambassador; helping to train our customers in the proper use of our products, troubleshooting challenges when required and representing our company at relevant trade shows and industry meetings. You will collaborate primarily with colleagues from the Lallemand Plant Care Sales, Marketing and Field Solutions teams but also with other teams such as Supply Chain, R&D and Product Management. You will develop and maintain strong communication and business relationships with external distributors, retailers and end-user customers in the market.

Your main missions will be, but are not limited to:

  • Develop new business and provide excellent customer support.
  • Train and educate customers on our technologies and innovations.
  • Implement and execute demand generation tactics with end customers to support market development (e.g., retail and farm sales calls, grower meetings, etc.).
  • Develop and execute annual field trial campaigns in the territory to support new product launches and business development.
  • Actively participate in regional trade shows and industry meetings.
  • Contribute to our team’s success by exceeding our annual sales budget and managing your annual territory spend budget.

 

Technical skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in an agriculture related field.
  • Sound knowledge of Montana crop protection market and distributor/retail landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and complete projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

An asset

  • Understanding current agronomic practices and experience in row crops, preferably crops of significance across Montana and PNW is a plus.
  • Experience selling, and a strong knowledge of microbial technology is a strong asset.
  • 2+ years of retail/grower sales experience in the seed or crop protection market or related sales internship is preferred.

General criteria

Required

  • Valid passport, and clear driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 75%) across the specified territory for business development and customer support. Some additional travel across upper mid-west and international may occur occasionally for meetings.
  • May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Sitting for long durations (driving or at desk).
