Plant Based Solution Key Account Manager - North America

Main Functions

Position Overview: We seek a highly motivated sales professional to lead our growth and expansion in the Plant-Based Solutions (PBS) market.

Key Mission:  Focus on our exclusive distribution agreement with the Netherlands-based company revyve. This role will emphasize helping clients and potential accounts develop culinary applications where our products (including revyve) offer significant advantages.  

This Canadian-based, Key Account Manager - North America role will report to the Global Director of Sales.  Developing new accounts and growing existing Lallemand direct customers in Canada and the USA. The nature of this role will include extensive travel in North America, including close cooperation and regular visits to the culinary lab in Montreal, as well as globally, as business demands.   

Responsibilities 

  • Lead Plant-Based sales initiatives with cross-fertilization across the global sales team.  
  • Lead revyve activities, including support of the global sales team and liaison with the manufacturer. 
  • In cooperation with the Montreal-based culinary lab, develop & communicate culinary applications for the sector.  
  • Plan and organize sales activities. 
  • Build and maintain strong, trustworthy, and lasting relationships with clients. 
  • Capture and communicate market information, needs, and competition to upper management. 
  • Report and follow up on activities in CRM. 
  • Develop sales proposals in alignment with group price guidelines and communicate them to clients. 
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions. 
  • Develop forecasts corresponding to the client portfolio. 
  • Follow orders with Supply Chain/Customer Services. 
  • Inform internal functions of quality issues or concerns communicated by clients. 
  • Analyze sales results and prepare annual sales budgets. 
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams, including Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Sales. 
  • Deliver on portfolio sales and margin goals. 

Technical skills

Required

  • Culinary formal training or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft business tools, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Dynamics 365
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Intermediate spoken French

An asset

  • Previous business development and vendor relations experience is a strong asset
  • Degree/diploma in microbiology, biotechnology or food sciences an asset
