Technical Sales Representative - Eastern Manitoba & Parkland region

Main Functions

Reporting to the National Sales Director - Canada, your job responsibility will focus on building and supporting our microbial technology business with concentrated efforts through our retail and end user customers across eastern Manitoba and the parkland region. You will also serve as our technical ambassador; helping to train our customers in the proper use of our products, troubleshooting challenges when required and representing our company at relevant trade shows and meetings. With many new and innovative product launches planned over the next several years; this will truly be an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a sales professional who is keen and enjoys business development.  

Main responsabilities are:

  • New business development and excellent customer support across the territory;
  • Customer training and education relating to our technology and innovation;
  • Demand creation tactics with end-user customers to support market development (e.g., farm calls, grower meetings etc.);
  • Territory field trial campaign developed and executed upon annually to support new product launches and business development;
  • Attendance at regional tradeshows and industry meetings;
  • Contribute to our team’s success in exceeding our annual business budget and management of your annual territory expense budget.

 

 

Technical skills

Required

  • Degree or diploma in agriculture or related field and 3+ years of retail/grower sales experience in the seed or crop protection market. Biological agricultural inputs industry preferred, but not necessary.
  • Sound knowledge of the western Canadian crop protection market and distributor/retail landscape
  • Field agronomy experience in specialty crops, preferably crops of significance across the Canadian Prairies
  • Understanding of current agronomic practices & constraints
  • Knowledge and experience selling, and marketing microbial technology
  • Keen interest in business development and building a brand in the market with retails and growers
  • Field trial management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

General criteria

Required

  • Willingness to travel extensively across the specified territory (75%) for business development and customer support. Some additional travel across Canada and internationally may occur occasionally for training and meeting.
  • Work from home, in Manitoba, Canada
  • Possess a valid passport, driver’s license, and clean driver abstract
  • Be able to sit for long periods of time (driving or at the desk) and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
