Senior Process Engineer

Main Functions

Joining the Capital Project Engineering team, the Senior Process Engineer will be providing process engineering support to LBI's North American plants (US and Canada).

Responsibilities inlcude, but are not limited to:

Process design:

  • Collaborate with R&D and plant operations to translate laboratory/pilot plant findings into commercial plant process design.
  • Produce BFD, PFD and associated Heat and Material Balances for new projects. Lead the design and revision of P&IDs.
  • Lead the Hazop, PSA, FMEA and operability reviews to ensure proper design.
  • Familiar sith PSM, SIL and applicable codes and standards.

Process Engineering / Engineering:

  • Using PFDs, experience and design tools, create design specification sheets for a wide variety of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain equipment list and instrumentation list.
  • Define RFP/RFQ for vendors. Interact with equipment vendors to develop and select appropriate technologies..
  • Establish lay-out of major equipment and units.
  • Develop process control philosophy as well as critical control parameters for process operability and process safety.
  • Prepare C&SU of new units, including SOPs and operators training.
  • Field support the start-up in the plants.

Process Optimization:

  • Lead and/or support process optimization projects for the various North American plants to maximize plant capacity while minimizing cost.
  • Develop/maintain OEE modeling of the plants identifying new areas for process improvement or capital project with payback.
  • Use process modeling and trend process performance to support and identify continuous improvements projects.
  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support to plant operations.

Small Capital project improvements:

  • Manage some small capital projects execution from design to implementation in the plants ( including design, procurement, contruction and C&SU).

Technical skills

Required

  • BS in Chemical engineering's related field

  • Safety focused, self started and highly organized.
