Internal Auditor

Main Functions

The internal audit team is a corporate function that appraises and helps to improve the company's internal controls system. The team is a source of independent and objective assurance, with a focus on adding value. They are a small group of professionals, possessing excellent technical and analytical competencies and strong communication skills. Tasks associated with this position  include, but may not be limited to:

  • Plan, perform and summarize the results of risk-based audit assignments;
  • Identify instances of non-compliance with the company's policies, procedures and internal controls;
  • Review the effectiveness and relevance of control processes and systems, also with a view to optimizing the company's resources;
  • Share expertise with managers to assist with implementation of improvements;
  • Carry out special mandates.

Technical skills


  • University Degree in Accounting or Administration with accounting option
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (internal audit and/or accounting/controlling)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data analytic tools (ideally CaseWare IDEA)
  • Profond knowledge of English, spoken and written

An asset

  • Professional designation (CIA, CA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of French, spoken and written and any other spoken language
  • Experience working as a hands-on internal auditor, ideally for a private company
  • Knowledge and experience of data analytics tools (i.e Caseware IDEA)
